A Texas appeals court tells CPS that they didn’t meet the standards of the law when they raided a polygamist compound April 3rd.
Now since this is my little corner of the web I want to make a few things clear.
I do not agree with the teachings of the FLDS.
I do not personally support polygamy.
They however are free to worship the deity of their choice, as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others, which brings me to this point.
If a minor is forced to marry against their consent, or under the age of consent, the adult and the officiating cleric should be subject to criminal charges.
The raid was found to be illegal because the children were not in immediate danger, which the law in Texas defines as the only reason the state can take custody of children without a court hearing. I thought it was odd that they never found the girl that allegedly made the call that started this.
The media was flabbergasted that a court would rule this way. I heard Megan Kelly talking to Judge Napolitano on Fox and at least 4 times say that “this is a cult” like that excuses the state from running over the rights of the parents.
Despite the best efforts of the MSM to make it sound like the children were being saved from the worst pedophiles on the planet, the rule of law applies to all.
